NCS Exploration—Recent Advances in Exploration Technology + NeXt—New Energy X Subsurface will be held in Oslo, 21 – 22 May 2025, at Scandic Fornebu.
This event focuses on technological advancements in hydrocarbon exploration and in the emerging energy and low-carbon sectors, including offshore wind and carbon storage. Our goal is to enhance subsurface understanding by fostering interdisciplinary knowledge-sharing, aiming to improve efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
The conference is designed for the community involved in exploration on and around the Norwegian continental shelf and the wider ecosystem supporting these activities. It is also highly relevant for geoscientists engaged in emerging industries such as CCS, offshore wind, deep-sea minerals, hydrogen, and geothermal energy, as many of the technologies and advancements to be presented have direct applications in these sectors.
We invite you to bring forward examples of innovation and the use of new or enhanced technologies within the following areas:
- Seismic, CSEM and other Geophysical Methods
- Petrophysical Workflows, Rock Analysis and Well Studies
- Exploration / CCS strategies
- Data Management, Storage and Utilization
- Advancements in Monitoring Technologies
- Shallow Subsurface Exploration Tools and Methods
Innovation, collaboration, and coordination in exploration technologies are essential to maintain the success rate and competitiveness of the Norwegian continental shelf. Subsurface understanding serves as a vital shared resource for both traditional exploration and emerging low-carbon industries.
By leveraging decades of expertise and technological advancements from the exploration sector, players in the new industries can achieve faster, more cost-effective progress and significantly improve their chances of success.
